A new sample ASP.Net web form page has been added the the Horvath Software Solutions website. This new page is located at https://secure.horvathsoftware.com/OnlinePasswordGenerator.aspx. Passwords generated on this page are not stored anywhere on our web server. You may control the behavior of the password generator by entering your desired parameters in the Online Password Generator web form.
Here's the list of input controls:
- minPasswordLen - the minimum password length and when greater than or equal to the maxPasswordLen this sets the fixed password length. When less than maxPasswordLen a random password length is generated between the two length settings.
- maxPasswordLen - the maximum password length.
- excludedSymbols - for passwords with symbols in them this controls what symbols are excluded unless the Allowed Instead checkbox is checked. When Allowed Instead is checked then only the symbols in the text box are used when a symbol is added to the password.
- AllowedInstead - this checkbox controls the behavior of the excludedSymbols text box.
- PasswordCharacterSelections - this drop down list allows you to select your desired picks for each character of the password. The settings on this control are self explanatory.
We have included this password generator as a free service and as a sample of ASP.Net web form page capabilities.
Thank you for reading our post and using our online password generator!
The latest version of PRESS now uses Compiled HTML Help File instead of PDF file for help. This makes the user help a bit more friendly with links and searchable topics. The user manual is a work in progress like much of what goes on at Horvath Software Solutions. This post includes the user manual so you may preview what's in PRESS before downloading and installing the application. Please feel free to download and review this documentation. As always, any feedback is welcome.

PRESS v3.1 Build 25 was published to https://secure.horvathsoftware.com today. This build of PRESS has added an About screen and a menu option on the main screen to view the About screen. On the About screen information about the PRESS application is displayed and you can activate PRESS from this screen if it is not already activated. Once PRESS is activated on your PC, information about updates to PRESS will be displayed and you may download and install PRESS updates using the Get Update button whenever there is a new version of PRESS available on our server.
PRESS v3.1 Build 23 published to https://secure.horvathsoftware.com today now has activation key locking of some of the features of PRESS. As always PRESS is free to download and use. And most of the functionality can be tested before purchasing your activation key; however, if you wish to use the Import function or add more than 3 password records to your vault you must purchase an activation key. The introductory price of this is $29.99 $3.99 which will give you a key that you can use on all your PCs in your home network. Your purchase will also allow you to activate any future updates to PRESS should you choose to upgrade to a newer version in future.
We make it easy for you to purchase your activation key in the PRESS application when you attempt to add a fourth password record or attempt to use the Import function you will be prompted to enter an activation key. The pop up dialog for this has a Buy button that will launch a web browser directed to the Buy page on our secure website. Once you successfully complete the purchase on our website, PRESS will automatically fill in the information required to activate it. Your activation information will be sent to you in an email you can retain for any future activation.
PRESS v3.1 Build 19 published to https://secure.horvathsoftware.com today has macro library support. This new feature will load a library file at startup of PRESS that is used when adding new password records to your password vault. If the new password record's website url matches one found in the library you will be given the option of using the macros for the new password record's macros. This will allow for quicker setup with a new password record for a new website you are adding to your password vault. The macros in this library have been tested and proven to allow for complete login and as the library improves for many websites change password automation. The library is also checked when the website learner screen is first started and you may use a predefined set of macros for a website should they exist.
Currently there are only a handful of macros in the library but check often on the downloads page for updates to the macro library file.
If you would like to contribute to the macros library please feel free to edit your macros library located in the directory where the PRESS application file is installed (usually C:\Program Files (x86)\HSS\PRESS\PRESS_MacroLibrary.txt). You may then send your contributions by email to: mailto:email@example.com.
Attached is the current macro library file. Updated 1/16/2019.

with Encrypted Storage System v2.3 (PRESS v2.3) can generate random passwords
for your various website user accounts and store them in an AES 256 encrypted
vault on your local hard drive. The v2.3
release of this product supports autofill of your user name for most websites
when the Internet Explorer browser option is selected or if you prefer you may
select to launch your system default browser.
Autofill of user name is not supported with system default browser
randomizer allow for random password lengths and control of the characters
selected in the random password. Your
password history is stored in the password vault file so when you generate a
new password you can login with your previous password to change to the new
password on your website.
PRESS v2.3 is a
Windows PC desktop application that is compatible with Windows 7 or later.
Included in PRESS
v2.3 is Website Learner feature that can learn a website's identifying
information for the user name field so that more websites are supported by
autofill feature. Only login pages that
display the user name on the login screen are currently supported. For websites that use a popup or other
control to access the user name field you may select noautofill which will
launch the browser with website URL but not attempt to autofill the user name.
You may optionally
download a password key file that will allow you to access your password vault
without typing in your master password (after the first login to password vault
using your master password). This makes
using PRESS v2.3 easier, but we recommend storing this password key file on a
separate device such as a thumb drive not the drive where your vault file is
stored to prevent access by unauthorized individuals.
PRESS v2.3 is fully
accessible to visually impaired users that make use of a screen reader such as
Microsoft Windows Narrator or Freedom Scientific JAWS. In addition to being accessible with screen
readers. There is a password magnifier
feature that gives assistance in typing in passwords for websites that do not
allow pasting passwords from clipboard.
The password magnifier feature works with US English keyboard layout,
but may not work properly with international keyboard layouts. We may work further on this feature should
enough international users show interest.
PRESS v2.3 allows
export of passwords to a Microsoft Excel CSV file. This export file may be used to switch to
another password manager should you decide that you prefer it over PRESS. You may also import passwords using a
Microsoft Excel CSV file that is formatted the same way as the export file from
PRESS. This will allow you to switch
from a different password manager to PRESS or allow you to create clear text
backups of PRESS that you may restore your password vault from should something
go wrong (like forgetting your master password). We recommend encrypting the export file
should you decide to keep it stored on your file system (suggest using a
program such as WinZip with encryption).
Benefits of PRESS

idea! Ever want to listen to your
favorite radio broadcast of the big game while watching the game on TV using
cable. Then you have noticed that there
is a delay between the TV and radio broadcast.
This new product will make it easy to synchronize the radio broadcast
with the TV broadcast.
The product Audio/Video Synchronizer - AVS will take input from a audio/video source such
as a cable box or a streaming device like a Roku or others. The inputs will be both HDMI and RCA
component inputs the user of this can choose either of these options the system
will give precedence to HDMI in cases where someone tries both inputs
simultaneously. The system will have a
built in stereo radio FM/AM receiver with an antenna input similar to stereo
systems on the market today. The system
will have both an HDMI output to be connected to TV and a RCA component output
for older TVs or applications where component connection desired. This system will come with a radio signal
The remote control
in initial release will allow the user to input a starting delay offset between
the broadcasts. To start with, the user
will then be able to fine tune the buffering delay of the radio broadcast to
match within 100 ms of the TV broadcast.
Later versions may use some advanced signal processing to auto synch the
two streams with the capability of
synching within 10 ms between the two streams and adaptively handle
situations such as buffering on the streaming device for TV which in some cases
will change the offset.
The remote will also
allow the user to toggle back and forth between the audio for the TV broadcast
and radio broadcast with the push of a single button.
